Free movement of Europeans
Article 45 of the TFEU establishes the free movement of European nationals as a fundamental right.
As a European, you therefore have rights to assert, in particular the freedom:
-
To look for a job in another EU country;
-
To work without the need for a work permit;
-
To live there for this purpose;
-
To stay there even after having held this job;
-
To benefit from the same treatment as the citizens of this country with regard to access to employment, working conditions and any other social or fiscal advantage.
1. WHO IS CONCERNED?
-
Job seekers, i.e. EU citizens moving to another European country in order to find a job there (under certain conditions)
-
EU citizens working in another EU country
-
EU citizens returning to live in their home country after working abroad
-
The family members of these people
2. WITHIN WHAT LIMITS?
-
The rights explained here apply to people who exercise their right to free movement for professional purposes.
-
Limits exist for reasons of public security, public order, public health and with regard to employment in the public sector.
-
Croatian nationals may be subject to temporary restrictions.
In all these respects, we can help you assert your rights!
